An account holding dollars holds dollars. Safi converts it for the totals and the charts and leaves the stored amount alone, so a transaction is always the amount that actually left the account.

This matters more than it sounds. An app that restates a balance at today's rate quietly rewrites your history every time the rate moves, and then your March total disagrees with the one you read in March.

Egyptian pounds as a real base currency

Choosing EGP is not a translation setting. It is the currency every figure is reported in, on every screen, including the portfolio where your holdings are priced in dollars.

Rates come from an exchange rate service, which receives currency codes and nothing else. No personal data is sent to it, and it is named in the privacy policy along with every other processor.

Safi records the transaction in the currency it happened in, against the account it happened on, and converts only for the totals. So the transaction line matches the alert you were sent, and the monthly figure is still one number.
